Services Offered :

As part of our comprehensive care, we house a contact lens division offering a complete line of contact lens care, including fitting, soft lenses, rigid lenses, astigmatic lenses, disposable lenses and CRT (Corneal Refractive Therapy) lenses. This division is managed by our own in-house optometrist, Shelly Fukunaga, O.D., a licensed optometrist, who can provide you with comprehensive contact lens options, including the fitting of soft daily disposable contact lenses for nearsightedness, farsightedness, and astigmatism, two week disposable contact lenses, rigid gas permeable contact lenses, corneal refractive therapy, and other specialty lenses. An alternative to laser vision correction, contact lenses give our Santa Monica, Beverly Hills, and Los Angeles area patients freedom from eyeglasses.

Paragon CRT (corneal refractive therapy) is a specially designed therapeutic contact lens that gently and temporarily reshapes the cornea while you sleep. Through intense research and clinical testing, Paragon CRT has been proven both safe and effective for patients of all ages when worn during sleeping hours, earning this therapy FDA approval for nighttime use. Contact the Beverly Hills LASIK Center today for more information about CRT.

Paragon CRT is designed for individuals with low to moderate myopia (nearsightedness up to -6.00 diopters) with or without astigmatism (up to -1.75 diopters). Most patients achieve their optimum vision in seven to 14 days. The result is good vision 24 hours a day, without the lenses during waking hours, and with the lenses worn at night.

Remember that cleanliness in handling your contact lenses is critical to eye safety. If you have a red or painful eye or discharge, you must remove your contact lenses immediately, and if the redness, pain, or discharge persists for more than a few hours, you need to see your eye care provider immediately to be sure that you do not have a corneal ulcer. This dangerous infection of the cornea can lead to a permanent scar, and is more common in people wearing extended wear lenses that are leaving their contact lenses in the eye overnight. If you are over the age of 40, you may want to consider the option of monovision where one eye is fit for distance and the other for reading. This solution does not work for everyone, but is successful for those who are very motivated to not wear glasses at all and are willing to accept some compromise in vision. Of course, if you would rather bypass your need for contact lenses altogether, you can explore your options in laser vision correction at the Beverly Hills LASIK Center. Contact us today to book an appointment with Dr. Fukunaga for a contact lens fit or examination.

In addition to contact lens care, we also offer a full range of surgical, medical, and optical solutions. Surgery services performed by our LASIK surgeons include laser vision correction using the most modern techniques including LaserWave, Custom Cornea, Custom Vue, IntraLase®, PRK, "Down-up" LASIK, small incision cataract surgery with intraocular lens implants, glaucoma surgery, laser treatment, and eyelid surgery. We also operate a full service optical eyeglasses dispensary with a wide selection of designer frames and lenses, including multifocals, progressives, tints, polycarbonate lenses, polarizing lenses, and a fitting guarantee for your satisfaction. We also are the first office in the Beverly Hills area to offer the most advanced technology Wavefront generated eyeglasses (Izon). This exciting option allows our patients to experience “high definition” vision out of their eyeglasses, improving night driving and overall quality of vision. Visit our office and ask about wavefront glasses!

Whatever your eye care needs, our office will strive to serve them in a courteous and friendly fashion. If you are interested in laser vision correction from a LASIK surgeon, and live in Beverly Hills , Santa Monica, Los Angeles, or anywhere else, contact the Beverly Hills LASIK Center today.

 EYE CARE TIPS:
Your vision is one of your body's most critical senses. That's why it's important to take care of your eyes and protect them. In addition to our range of eye services, we recommend our patients follow a number of simple habits to protect the health of their eyes.

  • Always wear ultraviolet blocking sunglasses outside. These should be UV400 blocking to help protect the eyes from macular degeneration and cataracts.
  • Be sure to get regular eye examinations. Everyone over the age of 50, or over the age of 30 with a family history of glaucoma, should be examined yearly. This is because glaucoma is a completely silent disease with no symptoms, yet is easy to detect and treat with regular examinations.
  • Wear protective glasses for high risk activities. High risk activities include sports like racquetball and basketball, but also include all power tool work, hammering nails, and gardening. Protective glasses can save your vision. Ask about polycarbonate lens material for your protective eyewear.
  • Healthy lifestyle activities benefit your eyes. There is evidence that diets rich in beta carotene, such as green leafy vegetables, spinach (Popeye was right!), squash, and pumpkin, may be protective against macular degeneration. Vitamin C appears to provide some protection against cataracts. Regular exercise has been shown to be useful in lowering intraocular pressure in glaucoma.
